As reported by the Chattanooga Times Free Press, Christians For Accountable Leadership has unearthed a disturbing development that took place during the month of May in 2017.
On May 21, 2017, Sheriff, Eric Watson, disregarded court imposed prison sentences and mislead the public by transporting nine Tennessee Department of Corrections inmates in civilian clothing to a local church service.
The following is Christians For Accountable Leadership’s full statement on the manner:
The discovery of this is credited to our extensive interviews with current and former employees of the Bradley County Sheriff’s Office (BCSO).
As an organization, Christians For Accountable Leadership fully supports and recommends the use of Christian based programs to rehabilitate inmates.
However, misleading and endangering the public will not be tolerated by the citizens of Bradley County or Christians For Accountable Leadership.
These nine individuals carry extensive convictions, including multiple probation violations and should have never been allowed to be in close proximity to the public, let alone children.
This is yet another example of Sheriff Watson’s poor judgement as he chases his blind ambition at the expense of the safety of Bradley County citizens.
We are not rejoicing in this unfortunate situation, but instead feel terrible for the great people of Bradley County who truly deserve better than what they’ve received from Sheriff Watson over the last four years.
The BCSO employees are committed to putting Bradley County first everyday, it’s time Sheriff Watson did the same.
Christians For Accountable Leadership is a Biblically based conservative group that is committed to uncovering the truth and providing a voice for constituents.
